Dr Ahmed Jebril is a consultant and GDC-registered specialist in restorative dentistry at Eastdale Dental Specialists, Guildford.

What he does
Most of Ahmed's work involves mouths where something has gone wrong in a way that no longer has a simple answer: teeth worn short over decades, crowns and bridges failing faster than they can be patched, gum disease threatening teeth that matter, or the aftermath of years of treatment that never quite resolved. His job is to work out what is actually going on, and then to plan a way back to rebuild your smile and help you regain your confidence. Restorative dentistry is the specialty that covers this territory — the rebuilding disciplines of prosthodontics, periodontics and endodontics, planned together rather than tooth by tooth. It is a protected specialty: the title can only be used by dentists on the General Dental Council's specialist register, which requires many years of formal training and examination after qualifying as a dentist.
